German police confiscated 50K BTC as part of an investigation into the operation of a site with pirated content

During investigations into pirate websites in January 2024, German police seized almost 50,000 BTC ($2.17 billion).

In particular, the case was conducted against the pirate portal Movie2K, whose founders used their profits to purchase bitcoins until 2013.

This is the largest cryptocurrency seizure carried out by German law enforcement to date.
