The Near Foundation announced that it has released the NEAR Data Availability Layer solution.

The new service marks NEAR's entry into the modular blockchain market and is designed to ensure data availability for rollup developers.

As of September 2023, 100KB data calls on NEAR will cost $0.0033, while the same calls on Ethereum will cost $26.22 (8000 times more expensive).
