According to The Block, the percentage of BTC and ETH changing hands has dropped to an all-time low.

From March 2017 to 2018, over 59% of the BTC supply was active. Last year, this figure fell to 30.12%.

A similar situation occurs with ETH. From 2016 to 2017, 86% of ETH was active, but this year only 39.15%.

Despite the decline in the number of active coins, transactions on the BTC and ETH network continue to grow.
