Kazakhstan Binur Zhalenov conducted the first retail transaction with digital tenge.

The transaction was carried out using a debit card, which was linked to a digital currency account.

According to the official, Kazakhstan cooperated with Visa and Mastercard for this integration.

He also noted that the digital tenge can be used in international payments and programmed using smart contracts.

Full implementation of the digital currency is expected in 2025.
