Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin proposed reducing the load on the Ethereum blockchain and making Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus simpler and easier.

As the network's validators grow, so does its load.

Today, it is necessary to process about 28,000 signatures per slot, which puts a strain on the network.

Buterin proposed reducing the number of signatures to 8,192.

In his opinion, this can be achieved in three ways:

— increase the number of decentralized pools, thereby increasing the amount of ETH to obtain validator status (up to 4096 ETH);

— create two levels of validators with different priorities;

— randomly select validators for each slot.
