Fifth place in the PL this season will give a ticket to the Champions League

Along the way, fifth place in the Premier League this season will give a ticket to the Champions League. This is very likely true.

I’ll just remind you that the Champions League format is changing next season. In the main stage of the tournament there will be not 32, but 36 teams (new Champions League regulations here). An additional four vouchers will be distributed by:

• One place goes to the third team of the fifth league. It will be France in the next season of European Cups, but in the future a close battle with Holland is planned.
• One additional spot is selected through the Champions Path.
• One more ticket is given to the two best countries for the last European season (Championship, League and Champions League are taken into account). And now the rating looks like this:

8.750 – Türkiye (+0.500)
7,400 – Belgium (+1,400)
6,571 – Italy (+1,286)
6.327 – Germany (+1.685)
6,250 – England (+1,500)
6,187 – Spain (+1,125)
6,000 – Greece (+0,800)

In parentheses I indicate how much the country scored this week. Turkey earned most of its points in qualifying and is unlikely to reach the 15,000+ that consistently breaks through the top leagues. In England (unlike Spain), all 8 teams continue to score points. Five Premier League teams (City, Arsenal, West Ham, Liverpool, Aston Villa) lead their groups. “Manchester United”, “Newcastle”, “Brighton” are very likely to reach the European Cup playoffs. Perhaps they will change the tournament, but they are unlikely to be last in the groups.

In short, England will clearly be in the top 2 at the end of the season, and this automatically means that fifth place in the Premier League 23/24 gives a direct ticket to the main stage of the Champions League 24/25.
