The Barcelona defender gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of tomorrow's Champions League meeting between his team and Napoli.
The former Inter and Juventus defender also spoke about his career and future, given that he belongs to Manchester City.
The Portuguese defender played for Inter in the 2017/18 season and Juventus in the 2018/19 season. In the summer of 2019, he moved to Manchester City in a swap deal for Danilo.
“I was lucky enough to only play for big teams. I'm proud of my career because no one has ever given me anything. I achieved everything by sacrificing myself.
I don't know anything about the future yet, but I would like to stay here. I grew up watching Ronaldinho's Barcelona. He is my idol. I’m proud to wear this jersey and there are no other clubs I could go to, right?”
Speaking about his two-year spell in Serie A, Cancelo said: “It was great, both on and off the pitch. I know that the Inter fans did not like my move to Juventus and I am very sorry because I have many friends in Milan.
On a human level, Italy is the country most similar to Portugal and I was very happy to play there.”
Inter will face another Spanish team, Atletico Madrid, on Wednesday.
“They are similar teams and I expect a great game between two big clubs.
Anything can happen, even if Inter always wins and holds the Scudetto in their hands. They are currently at the top, second only to Manchester City. Pep Guardiola's side are the favorites to win due to their players, style of play and coach. They are the only team to win eight out of eight matches, but Inter come after them.”
Cancelo scored two goals and provided six assists in 51 Serie A matches.
