Montenegro and Millwall goalkeeper Matija Sarkić passed away at the age of 26.

According to British media reports, he recently fell ill while traveling internationally.

This morning the football player felt ill in an apartment in the Montenegrin city of Budva, where he was staying. His friends called an ambulance, but doctors' attempts to save his life were unsuccessful. He died around 6:30 a.m. local time.

Sarkić played for Montenegro against Belgium last week and was named man of the match, making an impressive nine saves. After that, he missed the match with Georgia in Podgorica.
